Coping with promotion (one day workshop)
It makes sense to reward good performance with promotion, but often the culture change from operative to
supervisor can be a daunting leap.
This workshop will provide the attitude knowledge and skills required to make the transition into supervisory
roles. It deals with real world, hands on, practical leadership techniques that can be applied to everyday situations.
The content of the course deals with real world issues and takes the opportunity to discuss delegates’
actual situation. By the end of the workshop delegates will be able to:
- Define leadership and recognise how to develop their own style
- Understand what motivates others
- Apply techniques that achieve tasks while building teams and developing
individuals
- Engage in practical leadership techniques
- Set standards of performance by leading with enthusiasm and passion
- Cope with stress in a professional and confidence building manner
- Understand how to deal with confrontation effectively
- Gain a sense of satisfaction and pride from their leadership role
This course is ideal for supervisors or managers who find themselves promoted from the “shop floor”
and just need some help with practical leadership skills, or for those who have been identified for a career path in supervisory
management.
Quote:
“I can’t believe the difference this has made to my everyday working life. When I first got
promoted I was so excited then the realisation hit me that suddenly I had the loneliest job in the world. This has given me
the tools to cope and the confidence to enjoy my management role.”
